The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for a mid-priced mop and robot vacuum. It gives a great mopping experience, but it lacks the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
During testing it was able to handle dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard flooring. However, unlike other models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the top-rated robots. It has impressive cleaning power and plenty of features, including an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automatic schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the touch of a button. You can choose an overall clean that emphasizes cleaning up larger debris like rice and cereal, or opt for two thorough maps of your home to ensure that your entire home is properly arranged.
This robot vacuum performs well on floors that are unfinished and carpet with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and also suck large items up. It doesn't lose its suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot promises it will improve with future models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that is focused on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common, but we found it to be only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with an advanced filtration system which blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating in your home. It's a nice claim but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price cost.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to store the arrangement of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. It then cleans your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, as well as establish virtual boundary markers, so that it knows to avoid areas that need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on higher-end models. The mopping system is superior because its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than an ordinary pad that vibrates.
The only issue is that it lacks an additional rubber brush for deeper cleaning, but it's an affordable price to pay if you want to get one of the best robots available. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than its competitors, and filling it up takes only two or three times, even when you've got the most dirt.
In terms of the mopping device, I was impressed by its ability to scrub tough dirt from my floors. The two lowest mopping settings, which are less powerful than high-powered modes, produce very minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch TV without being distracted. It will gently bump into a wall or furniture and move on if it comes across one.
What really distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly autonomously with very little need for human intervention. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and will automatically move garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes and dries the clean water tank. The app is adept at notifying you when something requires attention, for example, the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled due to a full dust bin.
You can also combine or create actual rooms to customize the way that Q Revo manages your home. That's a handy feature to have if you have several areas of the home with different flooring materials or if there's items that need to be cleaned out frequently, such as toys, clothes, and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from both carpets and hardwoods in its first run. It is able to even remove wet spills, though I recommend wiping them dry using a clean cloth before bringing the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop and more. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It is similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has an auto-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them clean and ready for use again. It also comes with a brand new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, granting it the ability to prevent falling over furniture or other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It is more than two feet in both height and depth, and weighs nearly four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and cleans 1,500 square feet in a single charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when needed.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that can be used even if you are not at home. It also comes with more mopping modes and a smart routing feature which allows it to clean certain rooms or areas of your home instead of simply following a predetermined route.
The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested, thanks to its mop pads rotating to scrub away tough stains and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent as well and it enhances suction when it detects carpet to ensure it's doing an excellent job. It also has a large battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as efficient as the ones we've seen on the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum and mop that comes with a range of convenience features you do not often find on robots at this price. It can build detailed floor maps, identify different types of flooring and is one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry its mop pads. But while these functions are great, they also put the L10s Ultra in the category of luxury, which might make it somewhat more expensive than what some homeowners require.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is tall and slim and has a white-colored finish accented with silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a large bumper, which protects furniture and the vacuum from damage when moving through the home. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane which help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the screen, you'll find one button that serves as the on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and transmit it to its base station. The center of the control panel includes the circular menu which lets you select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons allow you to access the settings in the app, which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map out your home. The LIDAR also helps the robot vacuum to recognize and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for families with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance that clears 98.4 percent of debris from our hardwood floor test best robot vacuum and mop and getting rid of all but the most difficult juice stains. Its mops are also quite efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile, and carpet tests. It wasn't as effective in removing sand from the hard flooring or quaker oats off the carpet.
