The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great choice if you're looking for a robotic mop and vacuum that's middle-of-the-road. It offers a great mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
During tests it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats out of medium-pile carpets. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't use LIDAR to help you map your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It offers impressive cleaning power and a variety of features such as an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can learn your habits for cleaning and suggest automatic schedules to give you the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the touch of the button. You can choose a general clean, which prioritizes the removal of larger particles like rice and cereal. Or you can select two detailed mappings to ensure that the entire home is cleaned thoroughly.
This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpet with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and also suck large items up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot says it will get better with the next models.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to be able to swaddle furniture and walls. It's a nice improvement over the hockey puck-like design of most robovacs, though we discovered it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ has an advanced filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating within your home. We like the statement, but not enough to justify a higher price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to remember the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map your interior. It can then clean your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and create virtual boundary markers, so that it knows to avoid areas that require more attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on higher-end models. And its mopping system is even better - its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than an ordinary pad that vibrates.
It's only downside is the absence of a second brush for deeper cleaning. However, that's not a problem when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is larger than many of its competitors, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it, even with the highest dirt level.
As for the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings, which are less powerful than the high-powered ones, create minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without being distracted. It will gently bump into furniture or walls and then move away if it comes across one.
The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash into the bin hidden in the background and here also washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is adept at nagging you only when something requires attention, such as the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled because of a full dust bin.
You can also combine or create actual rooms to personalize the way Q Revo handles your home. This feature is beneficial if you have different flooring in different areas of your home or in the event that you have to regularly clear out clutter such as toys, clothes, and books. The robo-vac was also one of the top performers in my tests and was able to remove debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first attempt. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying them with a towel before sending it in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a premium robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It has an omni-rotating mop as well as a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with self-cleaning bases that automatically cleans and empty mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a sensor system that can detect obstacles better and prevents it from falling onto furniture and other objects.
The most notable improvement to the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its sleeker, more modern design. This is thanks to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. The robot is still big. It measures over two feet in both height and depth, and weighs almost four pounds. However the robot as well as its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot J7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and cleans 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also has a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that is functional even when you're not at home. It also comes with more mopping modes and an intelligent routing feature that allows you to clean specific areas or rooms of your house instead of just following a set path.
The Omni Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested, due to its rotating mop pads that scrub away tough stains and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent too, and it boosts suction when it senses carpet to ensure it does a thorough job. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as efficient as any we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a top-quality model that comes with a variety of convenience features not often found on robots of this price. It is able to build detailed floor maps, detect different flooring types, and it's one of the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. But while these functions are great but they also put the L10s Ultra in the category of luxury which could make it somewhat more expensive than what some homeowners need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is slim and tall, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper that helps protect furniture and vacuum cleaners from damage when moving through the house. In the pane in the front is a second navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, there's a single button that essentially is a switch for on and off. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will shut it off and send it back to its base station. The center of the control panel is the circular menu which allows you to select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons open the settings of the app where you can customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to map out your house. This allows the robot to clean and mop efficiently, without getting stuck. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris from our test on the hard floor and removing all but the most difficult juice stain. The mops also work well, removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile, and wood tests. It wasn't as effective in removing sand from our hard flooring or quaker oats off the carpet.
